این ایستگاه که در سال ۱۸۶۷ راه‌اندازی شده ابتدا جزئی از راه‌آهن بزرگ شمالی بریتانیا بوده اما در سال ۱۹۳۹ بسته شده و سپس در سال ۱۹۴۱ به عنوان ایستگاه خط شمالی متروی لندن راه‌اندازی شده است.
