در این تیره یا خانواده، گونهای به نام سوسک لاکپشتی طلایی با نام علمی Charidotella sexpunctata وجود دارد که میتواند در هنگام رابطه جنسی، رنگش را کاملاً تغییر دهد.[4][5][6]
