پروتئین ۴ ریخت‌زایی استخوان

پروتئین شمارهٔ ۴ ریخت‌زایی استخوان (انگلیسی: Bone morphogenetic protein 4) پروتئینی است که در انسان توسط ژن «BMP4» کُد می‌شود.[4][5] این ژن بر روی بازوی بلند کروموزوم ۱۴ واقع است.

این مولکول حیاتی در مراحل اولیه رشد و تکامل جنینی در ناحیه چشم‌ها، قلب و کیسهٔ شنوایی وجود دارد.[6]

این پروتئین با بروز برخی از بیماری‌های استخوانی از جمله «فیبرودیسپلازی استخوانی‌شونده پیشرونده» در ارتباط است[7] و احتمالاً در بروز لب‌شکری هم نقش دارد.[8]

از دیگر نقش‌های مهم این پروتئین می‌توان به رشد و تکامل چشم‌ها و همچنین ریزش مو و کچلی اشاره کرد.
