گالکتین-۸
گالکتین-۸ (انگلیسی: Galectin-8) یک پروتئین است که در انسان توسط ژن «LGALS8» کُدگذاری میشود.[4][5][6]
گالکتین-۸ یکی از اعضای خانوادهٔ گالکتینهاست که دربسیاری از اعمال حیاتی سلول نظیر تکامل، تمایز، چسبندگی سلولی، تعاملات سلول و ماتریکس برونیاختهای، تنظیم رشد، خزان یاختهای و پیرایش آرانای نقش دارند.
اخیراً ثابت شدهاست که گالکتین-۸ در دفاع سلولی در برابر عفونتهای باکتریایی و آسیب واکوئلی نقش دارد.[7]
گالکتین-۸ با اینتگرین آلفا ۴،[8] اینتگرین بتا ۱[8] و اینتگرین آلفا ۳،[8] تعامل پروتئین-پروتئین دارد.
