در زیر، فهرست پرفروشترین آلبومهای موسیقی جهان آورده شدهاست. برای حضور در لیست، رقم فروش باید توسط یک منبع معتبر منتشر شده باشد و آلبوم حداقل ۲۰ میلیون نسخه فروخته باشد. این لیست میتواند شامل هر نوع آلبومی باشد، از جمله آلبومهای استودیویی، آلبوم چندآهنگه، آلبوم بهترینها، آلبوم گردآوریشده، آلبوم موسیقی متن و آلبوم ریمیکس. ارقام داده شده فروش مجدد آلبومهای دست دوم را شامل نمیشود.

از سال ۲۰۰۱، جداول پرفروشترین آلبومهای جهان در هر سال، بهصورت سالانه توسط فدراسیون بینالمللی صنعت فونوگرافی ارائه میگردد. این جداول بهصورت دو گزارش سالانه منتشر میشوند، گزارش موسیقی دیجیتال و صنعت ضبط در قالب اعداد. گزارش موسیقی جهان از سال ۲۰۱۶، جایگزین این دو شد.[105]
